Two Belarusians have been charged with terrorism over the bomb attack at a metro station in the capital Minsk on 11 April, which killed 14 people.

The state-run BelTA news agency quoted deputy general prosecutor Andrei Shved as saying the bomb attack "killed people and caused damage on an especially broad scale".

No motive has been given for the attack, which activists fear will be used as a pretext to crush any remaining dissent in the nation that President Alexander Lukashenko rules with a firm hand.
