Vote hope

Danes vote today in local elections likely to give a lift to Uffe Ellemann-Jensen, the opposition leader, who is attempting to become prime minister, Reuter reports from Copenhagen.

Success for his Liberal Party in the municipal polls, which also cover 14 county councils, would strengthen his position for parliamentary elections in the autumn.
