PARIS (Reuter) - France imposed a ban on imports of household waste yesterday after finding dangerous hospital refuse in recent consignments from Germany. Over the past week, customs officers in eastern France have stopped at least nine trucks from Germany carrying syringes, bloodbags and other hospital refuse. Four French businessmen have been charged with illegally importing hospital waste.
