NICE (Reuter) - The French Environment Minister, Segolene Royal, called for a 4m franc ( pounds 340,000) programme to curb the spread of a tropical seaweed in the Mediterranean.
'We have to act very quickly. The weed spreads fastest in summer,' Ms Royal said.
