Zhivkov 'innocent'
SOFIA (Reuter) - Todor Zhivkov, Bulgaria's ousted Communist leader, pleaded not guilty to embezzlement charges at his final court hearing. Mr Zhivkov, 80, driven from power in 1989 by leading members of his own government, is charged with embezzling 26.5 million leva (then dollars 30m) from public funds to buy palatial apartments and Western cars.
