Nicosia - A senior Iranian cleric has said Iran's spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has the authority to overrule fatwas. Ayatollah Ali Akbar Meshkini, who is speaker of the Assembly of Experts which chooses Iran's leader, made his remarks at Friday prayers in Qom. The BBC said a recording of the sermon was shown on Iranian television. Reuter
