Paris - EU and Canadian leaders sought to put their fishing dispute behind them, pledging to carry out a new agreement. Canada and the EU last month set new quotas on fishing in the north-west Atlantic after the Canadians seized a Spanish trawler in international waters in March.
"The wounds must heal," said the EU Commission, President Jacques Santer, after meeting the Canadian Prime Minister, Jean Chrtien, in Paris. "There should be no more difficulties." AP
