AND finally, a word on Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin-Baz, Chief Mufti of Saudi Arabia, who has cursed the UN World Conference on Population as haram (sinful). The sheikh is already celebrated in the Muslim world for his fatwa in 1979, declaring that the Earth was flat and it would be haram to say otherwise. Quite right too.
