WHILE you watch this weekend's Olympic blitz from Norway, unique souvenirs of the winter games can be found on the streets of Lillehammer. They are dark brown, oval-shaped, no two are alike, they look good on an ear and they don't smell, according to Tore Haugen, the man who is touting this latest fashion accessory.
Mr Haugen is a lumberjack - we hestitate to call him the designer and manufacturer because what he is offering the world is elk droppings. They are dried, cooked in a microwave, painted with lacquer (four times) and turned into ear-rings at pounds 7 a pair. 'I think they'll be popular, especially with people who come from countries where there are no elk,' Mr Haugen said.
