DUBLIN (AP) - Leonardo the Turtle, who swam 5,000 miles (8,000km) from the Gulf of Mexico to Ireland, was being flown home in style yesterday after four months of rest at the Irish national aquarium. The Ridley's Kemp sea turtle, whose species is considered endangered, was found exhausted on a beach in south-western Ireland in October, with a tag attached by researchers in Texas.
The turtle - nicknamed Leonardo by his hosts - was being flown home in a special container and cooled down regularly with salt water.
