Fonzi in disgrace

A Florida swim-with-the-dolphins programme is under threat of closure by federal agencies after the release of a videotape showing one of its dolphins becoming over-amorous with a female tourist, AFP reports from Key Largo.

The tape showed Fonzi, a 7ft dolphin, rubbing his penis against a young woman swimmer, who laughed and appeared unafraid. Later the dolphin tries to stop her from leaving the lagoon. US fisheries and agriculture authorities are investigating and will decide later this year whether or not to close the park. Fonzi no longer swims with tourists.
