Guatemala City - The party of former Guatemalan dictator General Efrain Rios Montt, promising to stamp out crime and corruption, swept to victory in Sunday's congressional elections, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal said. His Guatemalan Republican Front won 32 seats in the reduced 80-member Congress, well ahead of its closest rival, the Party for National Advancement, with 24 seats. Reuter
