Cyangugu - French paratroopers cracked down hard yesterday on the Hutu militias, which have been terrorising south-western Rwanda. They systematically dismantled their road-blocks and told them to go home and leave peace-keeping to the professionals. Italy is to send a mission to Rwanda early next week to evaluate what role its military forces could play in helping with Italian aid efforts already under way, the Foreign Ministry said.
