French students held up trains and blocked motorways in spite of a government climbdown on a plan to cut the pay of young workers, AFP reports from Paris. Students are still planning big demonstrations for tomorrow, even though the Prime Minister, Edouard Balladur, virtually buried the jobs plan on Monday.
