BANJUL - Gambia's new military leader sacked the finance minister, Bakary Dabo, yesterday. He had been the only minister kept on from the ousted administration of Sir Dawda Jawara.
An Armed Forces Provisional Ruling Council statement said Mr Dabo had been replaced by Mam Balla Jahumba, an economist and foreign ministry adviser.
On 13 August, Mr Dabo wrote to aid donor countries promising a timetable for the transition to civilian rule within 45 days. Reuter
