BEIRUT (AFP) - The Lebanese army, backed by tanks, entered the headquarters of the disbanded Lebanese Forces militia early yesterday and reportedly puts its leader, Samir Geagea, under house arrest. The army denied it had detained anyone and said its operation was merely part of the government's effort to recover state property taken illegally during the civil war.
