ACCRA (Reuter) - The Foreign Secretary, Douglas Hurd, said yesterday Ghana's president- elect Jerry Rawlings won a genuine victory in the 29 December parliamentary elections, boycotted by the four opposition parties. 'The British government agreed that the result was genuine despite a few irregularities,' Mr Hurd said at the end of a five-hour visit to Accra. Mr Rawlings' National Democratic Congress won 189 seats in the 200-seat assembly.
