BERLIN (Reuter) - Mikhail Gorbachev and his wife Raisa arrived here yesterday for the funeral of West Germany's former chancellor, Willy Brandt, and were greeted at Tegel airport by about 100 Berliners clapping and yelling 'Gorby, Gorby'.

The trip is the only exception Russian authorities have made to a travel ban on Mr Gorbachev. Thousands of Berliners filed past Brandt's coffin in the foyer of the hall where he once served as West Berlin's mayor.
