Gunfire in Iranian city
Tehran - Three people were reported killed in two days of riots in the Iranian city of Qazvin over demands that it be turned into a province. 'So far three people have been killed and about 50 injured . . . Sporadic gunfire is heard,' an Iranian journalist said from Qazvin.
There was no mention on state radio and television of the disturbances in the city 90 miles north-west of Tehran. The journalist said police reinforcement was sent after riots broke out following a parliament vote against separating Qazvin from Zajnan province. Reuter
