PORT-AU-PRINCE (AFP) - A mass yesterday for the vicitms of last week's ferry disaster turned into a political demonstration in support of the exiled President, Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
About 2,000 people were at the service in the capital's cathedral for the 275 dead and nearly 500 missing in the sinking of the ferry Neptune off the south-west coast of Haiti.
Some of the mourners were heard calling, 'Aristide or death'. A scuffle erupted outside the cathedral between members of opposing political groups and several people were arrested.
