Hard labour for blind sheikh
An Egyptian court sentenced the blind Muslim fundamentalist, Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, to seven years hard labour for inciting a riot and attempting to kill two policemen in 1989, Reuter reports from Cairo. Sheikh Abdel Rahman is in custody in the US awaiting trial on charges of bombing and conspiracy over the attack on the World Trade Center in New York.
