Mohammed Hashemi, the younger brother of Iran's President, Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, will resign as the director of Iranian television and radio, writes Safa Haeri.
Tehran newspapers reported that Mr Hashemi would become Iran's UN ambassador. He has been bitterly criticised by the clergy and parliament for alleged mismanagement, and has been linked in the French press to the assassination of Shahpur Bakhtiar, a former prime minister, in Paris in 1991.
