Pope John Paul II said that he would visit Lebanon in the spring and hoped also to visit the Holy Land, AP reports from the Vatican City. The Pope announced his travel plans in a year-end message to cardinals. The trip to Lebanon has been months in the planning after the return of relative calm following the 14-year civil war.
