BERLIN - Defence lawyers at the manslaughter trial of the former East German leader Erich Honecker said yesterday his cancer had grown and his health had worsened 'in a life-threatening manner'. They demanded that the charges against him be dropped, AP reports.
Mr Honecker, 80, is charged with manslaughter in the deaths of people attempting to flee over the Berlin Wall and other East German borders to the West.
