The former East German leader Erich Honecker, who suffers from terminal liver cancer, was taken to hospital after he fainted, AP reports from Santiago. Mr Honecker, 81, who lives in Chile, suffered a sudden suspension of heartbeat and breathing with a loss of consciousness.
