Hong Kong bridge sabotaged
Saboteurs damaged Hong Kong's showpiece Tsing-Ma bridge, the world's longest road-rail suspension link, barely a week before Margaret Thatcher was set to declare it open.
A police spokesman said cables along the emergency tunnel under the road level of the two-tier bridge had been deliberately cut in 32 places and investigators had classified the case as criminal damage. Reuters - Hong Kong
