A jumbo jet landing at the overcrowded Kai Tak airport yesterday. Up to 336 flights are likely to be scrapped each week from February, the Civil Aviation Department announced yesterday, because the airport has reached saturation point: 24 million passengers a year. The new airport at Chep Lap Kok is unlikely to be finished before 1997. The cancellations will cost an estimated pounds 433m in lost tourism.
