Hostage freed

Inmates in control of a maximum-security cell-block freed one of seven hostages in return for radio airtime, during which a prisoner warned: 'We're not going to give up . . . If we die, we die,' AP reports from Lucasville, Ohio. The release came on the sixth day of the stand-off, which has left at least eight people dead.
