US renews China's trade privileges
Washington - President Clinton renewed most-favoured trade status for China for another year but said he still found China's record on human rights unacceptable. "We believe that renewal of MFN will promote a range of US interests in China, including human rights," the White House spokesman, Mike McCurry, said in a written statement. Reuter
