More than 30 people were killed in an unprecedented outbreak of Hindu-Muslim violence in the Indian state of Manipur, on the border with Burma, where Hindus are in the overwhelming majority, AFP reports from New Delhi. A curfew was imposed in Imphal, the capital, and the state government called on New Delhi to send at least 2,000 troops.
