Israel's Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin, dismissed as 'total nonsense' reports that Israel had improperly sold billions of dollars of weapons to China, Reuter reports from Peking.

Mr Rabin said any military co- operation Israel had with China conformed totally with United States law, effectively denying Israel had illegally transferred to China military technology it had received from the US.
