JERUSALEM - Two more Israeli soldiers were arrested in connection with an alleged plot by a suspected right-wing Jewish underground group to attack Arabs.

Police said they suspect that the two brothers, residents of the Jewish Quarter in the walled Old City of Jerusalem, illegally took weapons and other equipment from the army. Their arrest raised to four the number of soldiers who have been detained in the case. The brothers and an army lieutenant remain in custody.

Police have declined comment on the investigation into the suspected anti-Arab activities of about a dozen people - mostly Jewish settlers from Kiryat Arba, near Hebron in the occupied West Bank - who have been arrested in the last three weeks. Reuter
