Israeli and Palestinian leaders, in what they called positive and productive talks, agreed at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos to meet again on Thursday for detailed talks on extending Palestinian self-rule.

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said the agreement reflected "a great feeling of hope" and that he was confident that he and Palestinian President Yasser Arafat could overcome the obstacles to Middle East peace. Reuters - Davos
