Italy's prime minister designate, Silvio Berlusconi, was preparing yesterday to name his new government as his political ally, the Northern League leader, Umberto Bossi, faced possible corruption charges, AFP reports from Rome. Mr Berlusconi is not expected to announce the names until well into the week.
