"Carlos the Jackal", awaiting trial in a French jail, tried to have a book about him banned on grounds that it violated his right to be presumed innocent. Lawyers said Carlos: The Secret Networks of International Terrorism prejudiced chances of a fair trial for the Venezuelan-born left-winger who was once the world's most wanted terrorism suspect.
