Bolivia's former dictator, Luis Garcia Meza, was sentenced in his absence on Wednesday to 30 years in prison for genocide, murder, graft and violating human rights and the constitution, AFP reports from Sucre, Bolivia. Garcia Meza, who headed one of the country's most repressive military regimes from 1980 to 1981, has been on the run since he disappeared in January 1989.
