TOKYO (AFP) - The head of a yachting school and nine instructors received suspended prison sentences of up to three years yesterday over the death of four students who had received corporal punishment, court officials said.
The Nagoya district court ruling came nine years after the first hearing. Prosecutors said two students were beaten to death at Totsuka Yacht School in Mihama, Aichi Prefecture, and two others died after jumping into the sea from a boat.
