Jews now hold a majority in the Palestinian stronghold of East Jerusalem for the first time since Israel captured the sector in 1967, Avraham Kahila, the city's deputy mayor, said, AFP reports from Jerusalem.
The massive influx of settlers into the city has tipped the balance in favour of Israelis in the last month or so, he said. They now number 158,000, to 155,000 Arabs.
