Jordan yesterday marked the 40th anniversary of King Hussein's accession to the throne with a parade of military force, flag-waving children and bedouin soldiers riding out of history, Reuter reports from Amman.

A storm of rifle-waving bedouin soldiers riding camels and Arabian horses recreated the monarch's great-grandfather Sharif Hussein's revolt against Turkish rule.
