Rome (Reuter) - Giuseppe Alfano, a Sicilian journalist who specialised in writing about the Mafia, was killed in an ambush on Friday. Police said the part-time correspondent for the Catania newspaper La Sicilia was shot dead by an assassin who forced him to stop his car in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, near Messina.
