Attackers yesterday killed Mustapha Abada, a former head of Algeria's state television, Reuter reports from Algiers. He was the sixth journalist to die in violence generally blamed on Muslim fundamentalists.
The Prime Minister, Redha Malek, said in a radio interview that security measures would be stepped up to 'eradicate terrorism'.
