Several thousand marchers shouting 'No god but Allah' set out yesterday to try to storm the Indian-defended ceasefire line dividing the disputed region of Kashmir, Reuter reports from Muzaffarabad.
The Kashmir branch of the Pakistan People's Party organised the march to demonstrate support for a three-year separatist rebellion in Indian-ruled Kashmir. About 3,000 marchers halted for the night at the village of Ghari Dopatta after digging their way through three huge landslides created the day before when police dynamited the hillside.
