WELLINGTON (Reuter) - New Zealanders have delivered a stinging condemnation of their two main political parties by voting overwhelmingly for a change in election rules, analysts said. Voters were asked on Saturday if they favoured a change from the British-style 'first past the post' system, and which of four proportional representation alternatives they would prefer.

About 85 per cent voted for change, and 70 per cent for the mixed member proportional alternative, the electoral system used in Germany.
