Forensic experts suspect that David Koresh's chief lieutenant shot him in the head as their religious compound near Waco went up in flames on 19 April, then put the muzzle under his chin and killed himself, a newspaper said, AP reports from Houston.

The Houston Chronicle said it was unclear to the experts whether Steven Schneider killed David Koresh at the cult leader's behest.
