Leaders of feuding Iraqi Kurdish guerrilla factions agreed in Turkey yesterday to end month-long fighting, a Kurdish leader said, Reuter reports from Damascus. Jalal Talabani, leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, which has been fighting the Kurdistan Democratic Party, said: 'We reached agreement for a permanent ceasefire and agreed to solve all problems in a peaceful way.'
