NADEZHDA STALIN, the granddaughter of Soviet dictator Josef Stalin, died of cancer yesterday. She was 57.

She was the only member of the Soviet leader's family to keep the name Stalin. His other grandchildren adopted his old Georgian surname, Dzhugashvili.
