Lebanon faced political crisis as the Prime Minister, Rafik Hariri, boycotted government meetings after his attempts to broaden the Christian membership in his cabinet were thwarted, AFP reports from Beirut. Plans for a reshuffle had been opposed by President Elias Hrawi, a Christian, and the parliament speaker Nabih Berri, a Shia Muslim.
