LONDON - The German government has confirmed it has received information that Libya is building a second poison-gas plant, writes Adel Darwish.

The chemical weapons unit in the plant is a copy of the controversial German-constructed Pharma-150 in Rabta. This was destroyed two years ago by fire thought to have been started deliberately on the orders of Colonel Gaddafi to avoid an air strike by the United Statets

The new plant is reported to be in the small town of Tarhunah, 40 miles south-east of the capital, Tripoli, according to two Thai construction contractors.
