Blantyre (Reuter) - Malawi's High Court has quashed two of five sedition charges against the activist Chakufwa Chihana, the official news agency reported yesterday.
It said Judge Lenard Unyolo on Wednesday referred the other three charges to the Supreme Court, which is expected to make a ruling on 2 November.
Mr Chihana, a trade unionist and campaigner for plural politics in one-party Malawi, was arrested on his return home in April from a Malawi opposition conference in neighbouring Zambia.
