A federal judge rejected Timothy McVeigh's bid for a new trial in the Oklahoma City bombing and ordered him to appear for formal sentencing on Thursday.
McVeigh's lawyers contended jurors were unfairly swayed by pre-trial publicity and testimony from survivors and victims' relatives. District Judge Richard Matsch, however, agreed with prosecutors, who argued that McVeigh received a fair trial. A jury gave McVeigh the death sentence in June for the bombing. AP - Denver
